Advertising Disclosure

Current status
Modern Self Journal does not currently display third-party advertising. The site is built to support it in the future, but ad units stay off until we've applied for and been reviewed for a display-advertising programme, and remain configured off by default even after that until deliberately enabled.
How advertising will be separated from editorial content
When advertising is introduced, the following rules apply:
- Editorial topics are chosen for reader usefulness — advertisers cannot purchase coverage, and no advertiser reviews a draft before publication.
- Advertisements are visually distinct from articles: they never use our article-card styling, headline typography, or byline format.
- Ads won't appear on pages with little editorial content, on error pages, or in places designed to attract accidental clicks.
- We will not encourage clicking ads or use arrows, urgency, or other visual devices to draw attention to them.
Consent
When advertising is active, ad scripts only load after you've made a choice in our consent banner (see our Cookie Policy), and visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland will be served through a certified consent-management platform as required by Google's advertising policies.
